Design, Build Quality & Setup
In comparison to other older JioFi devices, this model comes with a round form factor, looks wise this version looks different than the other versions. In the front of the device you can find two buttons; one for powering up the device and the other one for the WPS function. Also, 4 led indicators are present in the front; which indicates Power, Network signal strength, Battery level and the Wifi Indicator.
Build quality is good enough for a Rs 999 device. The device outer body is made up of plastic but it doesn’t feel cheap.
Setting up the JioFi device takes about a minute or two. Before booting up the device open the back cover of the device and insert the Jio sim in the sim slot then insert the battery & put the cover back. After that press the power button on the front of the device for about 1 second then the device will be ready to use within a minute.
JioFi JMR 1140 Speed Test Results
The speed of your JioFi device totally depends upon the network of Jio network in your area. If Jio’s network is poor in your area then you will not see a high speed using any JioFi device. If Band 40 signals are available in your area then you can expect a good speed from this device, Band 5 and Band 3 doesn’t give much speed compared to Band 40. I’m attaching screenshots of speed test result below and these speeds are noted when the device is using Band 40 20Mhz Signals;
In the area of battery backup, this device doesn’t disappoint. JioFi JMR 1140 is powered by a 2,600 mAh battery, You can expect 6-7 hours of backup if the network reception is good in your area. But if in your area network reception is poor then you can expect only 4-6 hours from this device.
